Now...Deep moisture ahead of a quasi-stationary frontal boundary across north Florida along with some energy aloft are aiding to allow for the development of strong showers and lightning storms off of the volusia county coast this morning. Further west...Showers and isolated storms are developing along the west-central Florida coast and moving inland. Some of this activity will affect lake county and possibly further eastward along the i-4 corridor through late morning. Later today...The east coast sea breeze boundary will move inland with widely scattered showers and thunderstorms developing along it. Late in the day a collision between the east-west coast sea breeze boundaries will occur across the interior from near lake county southward through orange-osceola-okeechobee counties. With a west to west-southwest steering flow aloft expect convection to move back toward the coast this evening and possibly offshore...Especially north of the cape where the steering flow is a bit stronger. For those planning a trip to the beach...Remember that the rip current threat remains high.
